We love palm trees!!


April was the first one to wake up, at 4:00 Vegas time, and then the rest of us rolled out before 7. Breakfast at a pancake place inside the hotel (near the casino), and we were out and rolling to the Hoover Dam! The high for the day: 99 degrees.

Walking out into the heat, we took lots of pictures, and some of us got a tour of the inside of the Dam. Would you believe that the base is over 600 feet thick?? Larry thought it was amazing how the engineers were able to build it back in the '30s.

Back at the hotel, more pool time!

Later that night, we walked part of "the strip," in the heart of Vegas. Retail shock!! So many stores inside hotels!! Vegas lights are really as bright as they say they are. Diane remarks that she thinks it should be the 2nd "city that never sleeps." When we got back to the hotel, we were asleep on our feet! Getting ready for the next day of fun...
