We are packed and ready to go to the airpor. before we go, we have to wait for Matthew's passport. We will leave he hotel at 4:00pm - our flight is not until 8:00pm. I wonder what we will do with matthew in the airport for 4 hours!!!! He has now become very attached to me and doesn't seem to want anything to do with Dave. This is quite a change from the beginning of the week. Dave is now the one feeling rejected. If I walk out of Matthew's sight for a minute, he cries. We don't really know why he's changed, and are hoping he will begin to fel comfortable with both us soon! There is another couple in the hotel that adopted a little boy. This family is from Holland. They brought their daughter (3 years, also from China) for this trip. It is interesting to see how the brother and sister are getting along. Anyway, we were in the playroom and the family joined us. Matthew took a liking to the little girl and kept giving her all the toys. When their son wanted to play with something that the little girl was playing with, Matthew yelled at him and gave it back to the little girl. He was very possessive of the little girl and her toys. I'm hoping that is a good sign for when he meets his sister, Sarah! It was great talking to Sarah on the phone and having Matthew smile when she was saying hello!
We are very tired today. atthew didn't want to fall asleep last night, and Dave and I eventually put him in his crib where he played with a musical book that sings lullabyes. He played with that until at least 10:00pm, but it could have been later, because both Dave and I had fallen asleep! Last time I looked at the clock it was 9:45 and he was still babbling and playing the music! Dave woke up at 2:00am and took a shower! I asked him why he was up so early and he said he was wide awake! I fell back asleep and then woke up at 5:00am. Matthew must have heard us because he woke up at 5:45am! He is very clingy to me today. Hoping he will take a nap.
Miss everyone at home. We are feeling a bit stir crazy today! Amy said we needed to stay in the hotel in case she needed to get in touch with us! We are looking forward to meeting up with the rest of our travel group in Guangzhou.
