This was our day to go to Niagara Falls. Another first for John and me. It is about an hour from here. Just a nice drive. It is a small town and mostly state park. We paid $5.00 to park the car and got our walking shoes on. It is truly an awesome site. The power of the falls, and you can get so close. There were a lot of people there. The weather was great, sunny and warm. We walked over a couple of bridges and to the horseshoe falls. It was so close you can get very wet. There are opportunities to go down an elevator and walk under part of the falls. They give you rain parka’s, but it didn’t look like that was keeping anyone too dry. We opt for just seeing the beauty of the falls and not feeling them. There is also a boat ride you can take, where they also give you parkas and take you to the horseshoe falls and it also looked very wet. Not wanting to be wet for the day, and not needing that experience, we just enjoyed the stroll around the park and the awesome view of the falls. The Canadian side was looking rather enticing. There must be a great view of the falls from that side. We could see a road along the edge and a what looked like a park. We decided we needed to see the falls from that point of view. But since we wanted to drive to Toronto also, we will do that tomorrow. Besides, our camera battery was dead and we couldn’t take anymore pics for the day.
