Today's itinerary was a trip to Niagra Falls which I'd been looking forward to. The Falls themself were pretty but shame about the surrounding town - imagine Blackpool/Las Vegas but on a smaller/nastier scale! Why town planners allow this kind of building beside a national beauty spot is beyond me but I'm guessing money plays its part in that...
We did the Maid of the Mist boat trip which was unexpectedly wet - pretty much on a par with the jet boating in Montreal only this time I was slightly less prepared so was a bit soggy for the next hour despite the rather Smurf-like blue ponchos we were all given. A few of us had lunch in the least offensive and most healthy looking restaurant we could find although their version of a caesar salas consisted of a couple of lettuce leaves drenched in thick slopping sauce so our search was somewhat in vain...After lucnh we still had several hours to kill so we decided on glow in the dark crazy golf which was quite fun although I was cheated our of first place by a naughty german tour mate who kept the scores and added about 5 to each hole for me!! Those who have played any sort of game with me before will know that this is not the best plan to make friends with me!!! I consoled myself with a large tub of Dippin Dots ice cream which I've become rather addicted to. With still a ridicuously long time to kill, the heavens opened and we ended up in the lobby of the Hard Rock hotel reading the newspapers!
Arriving back in Toronto we had an included dinner (one of the best according to our tour manager) but we are quickly learning that this guy has the tastebuds of a moron so it was a bit underwhelming to say the least!
