Lake Kukagami
We left London, and drove up to the lake to see Mark and Margo. Margo is Janet’s niece, and Mark, her husband. They have retired to the lake, and are currently rebuilding and redeveloping the property to be their retirement home. What a beautiful location. They have 150 feet of lakefront, with a dock, and a boat tied up to it. The weather was basically great and getting out on the lake for a leisurely cruise, and lunch was just about as relaxing a day as I’ve ever spent.
I have mixed feelings about the way in and out! It’s a gravel road that also serves logging trucks. They are notorious for destroying roads, and they did a pretty good job on this one. Mark says they run the grader over it about every two weeks. The day we left, the grader was working, so the newly maintained road was really nice. The part they hadn’t got to was partially washboard which can loosen teeth if you travel over 30 kph. Pretty country though, so worth the trip. As well, meeting Mark and Margo was great.
Mark is a woodworker, and is doing all of the work on the house, so he and I had lots to talk about, while Margo and Janet caught up.
Good time for all of us.
It’s a long time since I have seen a body of water which has no pollution, and is clean enough to drink!! There is limited access to the lake shore, and the maximum number of homes allowed has been reached, so the lake will stay clean enough to drink. (It’s tested yearly, just to make sure) Beautiful place to live.
Chuck and Janet.
