Wednesday August 19th

Right now we’re sittin’ at the picnic table listening to The Butterfield Blues Band on Terry’s IPod and sipping Grand Marnier out of a flask while counting out our wealth in loose change. Over $60 so far and still counting. Arrived too late to check in last night so must go to the office and register now before we’re sent off to jail. We have nothing left to surrender. Gonna try to pay for the $36 site fee with coins.

It’s the homeward stretch now for us and we’re starting to experience a combination of feeling funky, road weary, homesick and at the same time not wanting the adventure to come to an end, but as my bike sticker says “It’s all Good” and Terry’s bike sporting “Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow (Sarah Palin)”.

If the lotto numbers do what we hope, the trip’s not quite over yet. John, Marla and Lorraine - we’ll pick you up on our way through. Marla and Lorraine will have to choose a motorcycle they each like ‘cause “we be bad”. Or, a big honking comfy motorhome?

When in Thunder Bay there is no option but to get a pizza from Angelo’s. Delicious stuff. Here’s the kicker though. An XXXL Family Jumbo pizza with unlimited toppings (20 choices and we had 19:)) for the exorbitant sum of $18. Only three pieces survived the first sitting (great leftovers). The LCBO was closed so unfortunately there was no red wine to go with it. Had to settle for a few beer.

Well fed and showered we took a walk around the park in the rain to find a little trouble, did a load of laundry and started a paltry fire. Everything pretty wet. Nothing happening in camp so it was an early night for both of us. Planning to reach Sault St.-Marie tomorrow.

Till next time ... G&T
