This morning when I woke up and unzipped the window cover to the trailer I found a big sunflower looking in at me - nice.... We joined Dave and Liz on the back deck and told some other tall tales and Dave talked about his job with Ducks Unlimited. Breakfast was the next order of the day and Dave cooked up a great breakfast.

I took a long shower and changed into some clean clothes. We spent a quiet day and we intended spending the night until we heard the weather forecast predicting rain so we decided to hit the road (Saturday, August 22nd). We started on the road for the cottage in Belleville. It turned out to be a good decision to leave when we did because the rain clouds dogged our heals all the way to Belleville.

We stopped in Belleville because Greg needed his Harvey Burger fix and while there people questioned us as usual on all the stickers on our bikes. Next stop was at Ducker’s place to touch base and have him sign my vest. We left him with an invitation to visit us at the cottage and headed off to the farm. After a short visit with my brother Ron, we headed down the cottage road. We both talked about sadness at the 7 week adventure was finally coming to an end.

Lorraine was to meet us at the cottage on Sunday and the plan is to plan to spend a few days at the cottage winding down from the road trip (I can’t think of a better place to do that).

On Sunday, Ducker took us up on our invitation and we recounted to him the great time we had visiting with his son Jimmy and daughter-in-law Cath and two week old Hannah. We told Ducker what an amazing young couple Jimmy and Cath are and that we had thoroughly enjoyed the precious time we had with them and their daughter.

Lorraine arrived on Sunday afternoon as planned and later on in the early evening my brother Bruce dropped in on his way back home from Ottawa. Today (August 24th), Greg made arrangements to pick up his Ural motorcycle sidecar in Peterborough on Wednesday. The next few days will see us back in Ottawa where the circle will be completed.
