Ottawa,Ontario...
Our travels from Niagara Falls to Ottawa started a delay on the QEW through Hamilton (accident of two 18 wheelers on the big bridge). We skirted Toronto unknowingly missing a tornado that was passing north of the HWY 7, our planned route to Ottawa. Our stay in the Ottawa area was a Municipal camp ground 15 kms from Parliament Hill. The RV campground was heavily treed and damp, a mosquito swatting challenge seemed to be part of the daily routine.
The "Hill" is rich in history. We took a very good free tour of the Legislative bldgs taking in the Library, Senate Chambers,Legislative Chambers, Clock Tower etc and doing a walking tour of the grounds. Lots of interesting monuments and tons of photo opportunities of the Rideau River, Locks, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
We had an invitation to a Bar B Que at friends of Wally and Erna in Orleans, ON. Gerald and Brenda were gracious hosts an an opportunity for our RV companions to catch up on years of events.
