Quebec City, QC.
Tons of history in this city..
Our campsite was across the Saint-Lawrence River from Quebec City, a short drive to the ferry between L'evis and 15 min. ferry ride to the dock at the foot of Place-Royale below Le Chateau Frontenac. The day was cool and grey with temperatures in the air feeling like an early fall is already upon us. This could not dampen our spirits as we had a four hour walking tour planned. Sandy was not excited about all the climbing, surprised herself. She did it!! I had to tow her up a few staircases. (Holding her hand became second nature).Wally wiped tears from his face and he claims that he he saw a romantic moment!! I think it was his knee that was aggravating him again!!! The 'old' town has so many Kodak moments, snapped 125, and no I won't bore you with all of them. Unfortunately with the grayness of the day the colors weren't as brilliant as I would have liked them to be.There were so many great areas to discover... must include Chateau Frontenac, La Citadelle, the Plains of Abraham, Parliament Hill, many areas of the walled city with its brilliant architecture in Place-Royale and rue Saint-Louis. The experience was very rewarding. We even had a bit of extra excitement, an air show, one of the events of a Military EXPO, Lots of music with Military bands having a dress rehearsal nearby. Lunch at Chez Astons where poutine was the pick of the day.
Time to put our feet up and challenge another "Happy Hour"...
