Up so early for flight to Bagan, still rainy and dark when we went to the airport. Met at airport by manager of Inwa Ga where we stayed last time here. Within 10 minutes of arriving we had Naing Naing on our doorstep.

What a thrill it was for him and us. Bestowed gifts on him, he was so happy as we were as well. Good time to arrive here,

Big once yearly Buddhist Festivals on, tonight we are heading out with Naing Naing to a traditional dance concert.

Last time we left Bagan Pete bought Naing Naing a pair of mirrored ray bans in Bangkok, so here we are two years later and he has the sunnies. He said he looked very handsome and he does.

We went to the Cuckoo Lacquer works, bought a lovely small table all wrapped up for easy carrying then headed into New Bagan to get a pair of laquerware lamp bases that I wanted for some time.

The lady that sells the laquerware has a 1959 Austin car she has had for over 30 years, she was of course very interesting and eccentric.

Naing Naing come to pick us up at 8.30 for dance show, walked down to river to venue. It was like side show alley, with games and things for money.

Drums banging very loudly the packed crowd was very quiet and as usual we were the only non Asians there. The first act come on and omg it was trully awful, screeching singing and the speakers were so loud it become distorted as well. We managed to stay for a few acts then had to leave before

our eardrums got too smashed.

2nd. September. Naing Naing come to pick us up for lunch at his house. Words fail me here really, it was such a blessing to be invited. I bought a tin of biscuits to take with us for a gift.

The house as I mentioned last time is a grass hut. The food was all layed out on the table, chicken (very tiny) in fact very sus, little bones. rice and salads, and delicious. All the kids from the neighbourhood come to see us. NN's daughter took a shine to us and wanted to hold our hands all the time. She liked my scarf, so I gave it to her.

The smile on her face was worth a million dollars. Absolutely joyous stuff and priceless.

Tomorrow we leave for Heho airport and drive to Kalaw to deliver Mark from Melbournes gifts for Mr Robin, looking forward to seeing the joy he will have as well.

Thanks for the messages all.

Take care.
