The capital of Canada was surprisingly awesome - who would have thunk it? It had just the right mix of grandeur, history, activities, open spaces, character, social action and livability to make it a really enjoyable city. We did the usual tourist route downtown and toured through the federal parliament buildings and grounds, went up the Peace tower, poked our heads into some churches, looked at the outside of some museums (Dad wasn’t there to drag me into them) and stopped by the Canadian mint. Even learned a bit about Canadian politics and history!
