Rachel's post 30 escape 2009 travel blog

Very very wet day. But it must have been one of the few in 3 months so I know I can't complain. I guess it helped me to start acclimatising to London weather...

I made a dash across to the city to the Contemporary Art Gallery which proved to be very disappointing - it must have been mid season as the collection was tiny and although it was only $8 entry I did feel that it was not worth it. The one thing that saved it though was a Music Video exhibit which kept me entertained for over an hour. this was a series of different music videos that could considered to be works of art in their own way - there were some really good ones and also some cool new music that I will definitely being downloading from itunes when I get back!

The rain made no let up when I came out of the gallery so I made use of the underground city of Montreal (built for all those ridiculously cold winters) and spent the rest of the afternoon mostly browsing around the shops.

On my way back to the hotel (to repack again!), there was a big film set in action which was quite interesting to stop and watch for a bit. I am not sure what the film was but there were 3 massive wind machines (in use), a large crane and a couple of crashed cars so it looked farily big budget. The police/ firemen around look fairly hacked off though.
