For the week after our trip to the Blue Mountains, the weather was more comparable to an English October than the standard Sydders spring! However after a dramatic red sky (see pic) I went to bed hoping that this was the Shepherd's Delight! And thank the lord the last week has been glorious!!
We've had a star studded week at NSWIS this week, with the Aussie Rugby League Team in twice for sessions! Unfortunately this was during my shift, so I had the horrendous task of supervising them, and showing them through the recovery centre. It's a tough job, but someone had to get the short straw. :-)
This weekend the weather has been spot on! On Saturday I decided to cycle to and from tennis in the city- seemed like a good idea in the morning but after 40kms I was feeling it! Got a little sunkissed, but I think the pommy skin is beginning to acclimatise to sunshine. I took a few pics en route as I got closer to the city. The majority of the route is on cycle paths so it's pretty easy and safe to get into the city by bike and definitely beats the train!
Today, Tom and I had planned to go to Manly beach for the day, but this morning there were clouds in the sky so we decided to leave it until the weather is more acceptable!!! So I headed into the city to have a look round the markets and explore the eastern suburbs a little more. By lunchtime sure enough it was bloody boiling and would have made for a great day at the beach!! I ended up strolling around the harbour and chilling in Hyde Park for a while before taking what I thought was a short stroll to Rushcutters Bay. An hour later I made it to the bay, and just chilled out a little more and had an icecream- tough life! Rushcutters Bay is near Kings Cross in the Eastern suburbs and was where the sailing at the 2000 Olympics was held apparently. It's a really nice spot on such a gorgeous day, it's hard to believe it's so close to the city centre.
So after that day I'm pretty relaxed, ready for another weeks work. I wonder who we'll have in this week!??!
I'll let you know!
Lots of love,
Take care everyone!
