An unexpected two night stay in Perth (car trouble) enabled us to see some of the city and its attractions. We visited the AQWA (Aquarium of Western Australia) and we were very impressed with the beautiful displays of the marine life featured here. The aquariums were set up to showcase the marine life from different areas of WA. A walk-through display was very impressive, with sharks, turtles, stingrays etc. swimming overhead seen clearly through the glass!

We spent the next morning in Kings Park and the Botanical Gardens, a beautiful park overlooking the city – 400 hectares of natural bush, gardens and picnic areas and very popular with tourists and local people too. Getting around Perth by public transport was very simple, with free bus travel around the CBD and an excellent train service into the city from the suburbs.

The wheel alignment having been corrected, we left Perth the next day and headed south towards Margaret River.
