Had to be done. Enjoyed roaming around, the hotel complexes are huge. Compared to this place Disney definately is Mickey Mouse. Stayed at La Quinta about 4 blocks off the strip, hotel was real nice, cheap(69$) and had great breakfast and free shuttle to The Strip on demand. Weather was perfect, clear, cool, 68, and dry. I suppose you are wondering about the gambling, well with the help of 4 aces I only lost about 12 bucks for the 2 days. To enjoy this place properly you would have to come for a few days with a few $1000 to do the shows, restaurants and other attractions which we did not do. Glad we stopped though.
