Benjamin's Thoughts:

I was really excited to see the colosseum. I never thought that I would actually get there to see it. I was excited to see it because it the biggest theatre in Rome where they held the gladiator competitions. This is interesting because this is the entertainment of the Empirer. I liked the story that the colosseum was not named because of its size but because it was built near a colossal statue of a guy that I can't remember his name, but it is in my horrible history book. I felt overwelmed because it was such a big area. I also liked the story that when it started, it was to celebarate a battle against the Turks. Over 5000 animals and I think 2000 men were killed during these days of celebation.

The most interesting part of it was the old maze like area down below the seats and areana. The Empirers had their own front seat at the head of the areana.

I was a bit disappointed in that we could not see the rows and rows of seats, the only seats were put together later but we heard that they were put together wrong.
