And were off!

A long but event free day. Were still not fully aware of where we are and how far we come. The flight to Calgary was short and sweet with only a little bit of roughness on approach to Calgary. We got to our gate and I was on holidays a beer and snack killed our wait and we were boarded for Frankfurt.I even got a bonus pat down at security, that's what you get for not setting off the scanner.

I believe this was the longest day I spent on a plane it took over 8 hrs we saw a bit of Hudson's Bay and the ice before it turned dark. We were treated good, free beer and food even an after dinner Baileys made the flight much more bearable. Also a good lineup of movies kept us entertained.

We had a five hour stopover before heading to Rome it took about an hour for us to get to our gate and clear security. We did a bit of looking around and then found some empty seats in a corner and had a nap.Our last flight from Frankfurt to Rome was short and we had a great view of the Swiss Alps as we flew over them.

It was pouring rain when we landed and by the time we got our baggage and got on the train the sun had come out(You know Steph has that luck when it comes to weather). We had a quick trip on the train quickly learning to ignore anyone giving you free directions as they are directing you to their buddies taxi. We walked to Hotel which I can best describe as funky I will try to include a picture later.

Steph had a nap as I had a challenge hooking up to the internet. Wireless don't work that good with stone buildings and Rome has a few.We headed out for a walk and learned supper time in Rome is late but was able to find a Familia Restaurant were Pasta and Pizza was the order of the day.I even had rocket salad on mine with Prosciutto Ham and mozza cheese topped with fresh shaved stinky cheese.

Holy scooters batman lined up and down the streets of every shape and size. Also on the side streets parking double or anywhere you want is normal along with no stop signs its anything goes type of driving. Our Hotel is in the middle of the embassy houses so we seen more than a couple armed military. The people are friendly and helpful most speaking fluent English, Well I have been up since over 18 hours so I think I might need a nap.

Chow for now
