Venice a story of time

Good afternoon loyal followers or I should I say young ones.

I am still wrapping my head around our place in time. I seen things today so old I can't even grasp their place in time.

Venice is a truly remarkable place. When Steph said I was in the doghouse I could not understand, then she explained it Doge's Palace we were in. I will not even try to explain what we seen today. I can only say this is a truly remarkable place and I am very fortunate to have come here.

Lesson #1 for the day

It's cold in Venice in November; bald people need a toque. On the plus side there are few tourists and few lines. I will take the plus side as this is too small a place for a lot of people.

We spent the day at San Marco Square and Rialto; a region of the city. We are living on Pizza rolls and other so called Venice snack foods. Walking the backstreets eating from little cafe's on the way. We stopped at one were I had a drink which is still a mystery to me, I asked for what I seen the locals drinking. I was asked whether I would like sweet or strong.

Lesson #2 for the day

When they say strong ITS STRONG.

We visited the Rialto market which is where the locals get their fresh produce and fish. It was just closing down but a good feel for what was available. I can say there are some things I don't think I could stomach, horse meat being one of them.

We ended the day touring the Basilica.

When my Grandfather quit drinking he built a church.

When the Romans found Christianity THEY BUILT THIS. I can't begin to describe this place and can't imagine what Vatican City will be like. The craftsmanship and dedication to build something like this eludes me.

We could see our ship from the bell-tower. We have another two days in Venice. Hoping to explore more of the city.

Hope you like the model photo; she was doing a shoot just outside the palace. It was cold and they were shining her up with some sort of spray.I don't know how she could do it.
