Once we had all arrived at Cable Beach Backpackers we unloaded, showered and met up at Diver's for tea. At the Backpackers Ken and I had a problem. The had cancelled our reservation. Some girl had called in and was on Adventure Tours. She cancelled her booking for a double room. The reception guy assumed it was Ken and I. I was a little annoyed. Well, they placed us in Cleggy's single room, and gave us a mattress. Cleggy got bumped!
Our last meal together at Diver's was good. Ken and I were hungry! Poor Josefin was stressed and worried. She had to leave early the next day! No layover for her. She's doing 3 Adventure Tours back to back. I ordered Ken the BBQ Pork Platter. It was humungous! Like a Flintstone meal!
Wednesday was explore Broome and do some shopping. Later we relaxed by the pool (I was reading a Bride's Mag). Three minutes later, "Karen, I'm bored." "Well, I'm happy. So, you'll have to entertain yourself for awhile." Ken isn't the relaxing type, so he went for a walk.
Ken found a great place to watch the sunset and to have dinner. Cable Beach is just gorgeous! Ken treated me with a romantic dinner. Champagne was lovely. Ken's prawn heads were icky! All finished off with a delicious dessert!
Thursday was our double tour day! We visited Willie's Pearl Farm in the morning and then sailed on the a Pearl Lugger in the afternoon. I enjoyed learning about the oysters and of course shopping for pearls later! It was just a light breeze of a sail, but beautiful and relaxing.
For dinner, we ate at a small Italian restaurant that had been reckonmended. We ordered pizza despite Ken's grief - he wanted seafood. It was delic! When I returned from the toilet, the waitress had the docket for me. I was going to pay, but it looked like Ken had beat me to it. Ken returned from the toilets and I discovered no - it was MY credit card! How did Ken pull that one?
It was a beautiful night for a walk. So we walked, and walked, and walked...it was over an hour until we reached our hostel! A nice little swim, a chat with our mates, and off to bed!
Meanwhile that day, Mary had been stung by a jellyfish. She was in the water for about 3 minutes, and a wave came and she felt a stinging on her left butt cheek! She went to the lifeguard and was treated. Her butt was numb for the rest of the afternoon! The luck of the Irish!
