Monday was spent driving towards Broome and reading 'Teeth of the Tiger' by Tom Clancy. I really like books by Frederick Forsyth and Pete bought me the book by Tom Clancy for my birthday as he also writes spy novels but to be honest the 3 of us have not been very impressed with his writing - he is very repetitive and the book could be a lot shorter. Whoever proof read it should be sacked as we have found a lot of grammatical mistakes, spelling mistakes and very poorly worded sentences. I know my diary might not be perfect but people don't have to pay to read the waffle I write!! He also makes some detrimental comments about women and state education - cheeky git! Well I went to a 'state' school and I know the difference between 'two' and 'too', unlike Tom Clancy - I shall not be reading anymore of his books!

Thanks for the present sweetie!

Stopped at a rest stop for lunch and then a huge boab tree for photos and a leg stretch. Boab trees can be pretty huge and look almost swollen - there is even one in Derby with a girth of 14m and hollow trunk which was used as a prison!

In Broome we headed straight to Cable Beach to watch the sunset - it's lovely to be back by the coast, feel the sea breeze, the sand between my toes and the warm surf. No flies here either - HOORAH! It's a much more comfortable temperature here in the evening.

We found a campsite near the beach and sat outside with a few beers, playing cards!

The following morning Pete dropped Susie and I at the beach while he went to get a haircut. It was raining slightly to start with but it was very nice to feel the odd raindrop, as it was very hot.

We went in the sea (Indian Ocean) loads - the waves were pretty big and we were letting them push us back towards the shore, while hanging on to our bikinis and we would then fight our way back into the sea again!

Pete came back and joined us in the sea, where we stayed for a while until we were too tired to fight with the waves - it was great fun, the beach was lovely and the water was nice and warm. We got quite burnt but didn't realise until a little later!

We headed up to Gantheaume Point for lunch where we saw the cast of some dinosaur tracks - unfortunately the tide was too high for us to see the real thing. The contrast of the red sand here with the turquoise sea and the white sand of Cable Beach in the distance was beautiful.
