We got into Airlie Beach, the outpost for the magnificent Whitsunday Islands, a couple nights ago. ... Our two day sailing trip around the Whitsundays was simply incredible!!!! And so much more effortless compared to our Fraser Island driving maniac. From Hervey Bay we took the night bus to Airlie Beach. ... Wednesday 10th June Gary: Almost two weeks on the road and it now takes us about 15minutes to put up the tent and then another quarter of an hour to get all the gear out and set up, the puzzling thing is that as to date, despite our best efforts we have not beaten 90 minutes to reverse the procedure. Sunday 21st June Lorraine: We left the Mackay Hinterland behind us this morning and cruised into Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. ...
