Overall a pretty relaxed day. Fortunately we called ahead but none of the caravan parks in Caloundra had a vacancy for the 3 nights. ... After lunch we went to the Queensland Air Museum at Caloundra. ... Al’s Grandfather had helped the guys who originally set it up so there was a lot of his memorabilia there, badges, pictures etc.Overall a pretty relaxed day. May 23, 2006 - Onward to Dicky Beach!

There's still no promise of sun when we get up, but the weather announcer does indicate that south of Gympie there's a better chance. The very helpful lady provides us with all kinds of reading material, an excellent map of the Caloundra area where we'll find Dicky Beach and hints as to which route will be the most scenic. ... Left the luxury of our villa and headed down to Brisbane to collect the camper. We drove up to the Sunshine Coast and followed the beaches down from Sunshine beach through to Coolum and stayed at Caloundra campsite. ... Whilst staying here we went to the Australian Zoo which was excellant and to top it off the man himself Steve Irwin was there (A complete nutter) and we saw his amazing croc show also got to cuddle the koalas and smooth the kangaroos and touch the snakes also getting up close to the elephants.Left the luxury of our villa and headed down to Brisbane to collect the camper.
