Nov 19, 2009 - Considering Rambo and first pictures of my hood
After a ten hour flight (Slumdog Millionaire, Moon, Two American Office and The History of the NHL), I got to Canada in a plane buffeted and dropping up and down and coming in like a winged and pissed albatross. But we landed and Vancouver was bucketing but I got to the hostel with no worries. ... I was happy Mum forced me to take my German army great coat as a) it was bucketing down b) i found out within minutes of arrival the town Rambo walks into before being chucked out by the sheriff is only a few miles north of Vancouver and I`m now in a position to re-enact that scene (and perhaps the rest of the movie). ... The only negative thing I can think about wearing my jacket is a)homeless people keep trying to sell me three cigarettes for a dollar thinking i`m one of their own and b)when the hoods up i can`t check the traffic turning the corners i`m crossing but as i always look the wrong way first at the moment it doesn`t really matter. After a ten hour flight (Slumdog Millionaire, Moon, Two American Office and The History of the NHL), I got to Canada in a plane buffeted and dropping up and down and coming in like a winged and pissed albatross. Nov 10, 2009 - 17,000 Kms Later.......... (in 57 Days)
So - after two months being on the road almost every day it feels really odd to know we don't have to get up and hit the road in the morning! And - more than that - does it ever feel odd to be back to living in such a large space after being used to the confines of the camper for so long! There's something to be said for the limited size of the camper, however: it sure doesn't take much time or effort to keep such a small space clean inside! Outside is a different matter: Bruce has been outside for much of today trying to get all of the bug-splat off the camper. Just Bruce and I that is - not Geri! The next day we got on the road at a good time and got back to Gabriola on the 3:45pm ferry. ... We went like gangbusters to empty the camper as soon as we arrived because we heard there was going to be rain the next day and didn't want to be doing all the to-ing and fro-ing in the rain.So - after two months being on the road almost every day it feels really odd to know we don't have to get up and hit the road in the morning!
