Calgary to Vancouver

Jan 13, 2009 - Here we go... the adventure begins!

It seems that we just returned from our Christmas trip to Wales, and we did -- just two weeks ago! It was good to see Uncle Ron and Peggy and my (Gary's) second cousin Christopher and his fiancee Katie in Chichester, Heather's nephew Carl and his mother Ursula in Bridgwater, and to spend Christmas with Menna (Heather's mother) and our Welsh friends in Cardigan. We left Ottawa this morning at 07:35 flying to Vancouver and arrived 40 Minutes late at 10:40 local time, most likely on account of strong head winds. ... After taking a local bus to downtown Vancouver, we met our friend Jeanine who drove us to Kitsilano Bay where we sat and chatted over a couple of cups of coffee (cup numbers six and seven for the day!).It seems that we just returned from our Christmas trip to Wales, and we did -- just two weeks ago! drove to ottawa today & friday we toured the town and parliment - photos here are of both days coming in to ottawa and downtown but were still on the road so there will be a day 22a of photos, we are at starbucks uploading these - we camped near town at a very noisy (trains/planes/trucks)campground called rideau heights. ...

We also rented a vehicle on our way into Ottawa. ... We luckily barely avoided a $300 parking ticket at the Ottawa Airport--it's tough to find parking for an RV at an airport while renting the last minivan available between 6 car rental agencies!
