Sep 23, 2009 - Circus

Had a very chilled day today, I am still blaming the jet lag from the West Coast. (3 hours does make a difference!) Posted a few more bits and pieces back to myself in order to help the weight limit on the plane (and attempt to clear some space for inevitable New York shopping blitz) I returned to an all day breakfast place that Betty and I had found last time we were in Toronto and enjoyed a ridiculously large plate of french toast and strawberries. ... Their new show, Ovo, was housed in a traditional circus tent errected in disused docklands of Toronto. ... I was very glad I had some company as we walked down to the entrance as it essentially involved walking alongside motorway and some quite dark paths to get there! I am blaming jet lag and the trauma of my flight from Vancouver on a very very late start today. It was a gothic style "castle" built in the early 1900's by a guy called Sir Henry Pellat, an industrialist who made it big through starting electricity company in Toronto. ... I spent the evening at the flat of a couple of Australian friends' I'd made on my first tour, who had just moved to Toronto for the year. ...

There’s really not much to say about a transit stop at Lester B. Pearson Airport in Toronto except to say that it was wonderful to be on our way to Madrid and the start of our fourth year on the road. ... August 19 – Wednesday Today was travel day – leaving our lovely camping spot at Paul & Mary’s we journeyed on to Toronto – only 107 kms. ... We arrived at our campsite in Toronto – Indian Line Campground, by noon so had an afternoon to do laundry, get some groceries, fill propane tanks etc. ... We then took the subway to downtown Toronto and to the CN Tower. ... We had a lovely lunch in the revolving restaurant as we took in the views of Toronto and Lake Ontario. ...
