Day 29 - Sunday, April 12, 2009 Today, after a short nap, we woke up at 3:00am to meet our taxi to the airport. The flight to Toronto was also uneventful. ... When we arrived in Toronto, the customs man was very nice and ignored the fact that I brought home just a little bit more alcohol than personal exemptions allowed for. ... Nov 20, 2008 - Calgary, Edmonton and the trans Canadian railway to Toronto

Built on oil wealth, the modern cities of Calgary and Edmonton are soulless places - their largely deserted downtown areas characterised by high rise steel and glass office buildings, their suburbs sprawling and unattractive. Long treks were rewarded by sightings of both as well as White Tailed Deer and Moose (but no Elk) although we discovered that many of the apparently elusive Bison could easily be seen at dusk near the fencing adjoining the highway bisecting the park! We decided to cover the 3,500km journey across the great plains to Toronto by train - a journey of two days. ... Winnipeg (pop 750,000) at 18 hours into the journey was the last city of any size before Toronto. ...

We're going to Disney World!! We were up before daybreak and on our way shortly after, having packed the night before (I loathe packing and always put it off for as long as I can). It's about a 21-22 hour drive from Toronto to Disney World, hence two fairly long days. ... We rented it here in Toronto for $45. ... 00 for the entire month! We only used it for this trip but for that price it didn't matter.We're going to Disney World!!
