Oct 14, 2008 - Is There Anything More Important Than Hockey?
For those of you friends and family who have ever lived in the Toronto area and have experienced rush hour traffic, you will know what I mean when I say, “parking lot!” We were way too leisurely at the Hockey Hall of Fame and the CN Tower today. ... That was interesting! Sadly, I missed Gord, who was arriving in Toronto as we were leaving—well, we missed each other by a couple of hours. ... Our stops today didn’t have a great deal of historical value (maybe the hockey had a wee, little bit) but that’s ok.For those of you friends and family who have ever lived in the Toronto area and have experienced rush hour traffic, you will know what I mean when I say, “parking lot!” We were way too leisurely at the Hockey Hall of Fame and the CN Tower today. ... Today we are heading towards Toronto. ... We set off from Niagara Falls to head to Toronto. ... The trip was uneventful and we were hoping to find a parking spot somewhere like we did in Chicago but Toronto was nothing like Chicago. ... Unfortunately, there are no RV parks within about a 20 mile radius from the centre of Toronto and the only one we found was full, with it coming up to the Canadian Civic Holiday. ... Shame about the CN Tower but not overly impressed with Toronto and the surrounding area as it was very built up and much of it was run down. ...

One of the places I really was hoping I’d have a chance to see was in Wakefield Quebec in the Gatineau region about 30 min. When Eva got home from work we headed out for the GO train into downtown Toronto. ... The next day Eva’s husband Dave gave me directions to a park/beach area in downtown Toronto: one that didn’t require as much time on the 401 and a little more time on the old way into town along Kingston. ... I guess it’s the speed of the highways that does it to me (get me all wired up) because even with a congested two laner in the middle of town I’m much more relaxed. One of the places I really was hoping I’d have a chance to see was in Wakefield Quebec in the Gatineau region about 30 min.
