Beidaihe on the Bohai Gulf was developed for the rich and well to do Chinese bigwigs, so you can understand our surprise when we discovered the influx of Russians holidaying at this beach resort. When we returned to Qinhuangdao we spent some time walking down the food street trying local cuisine. ... The street venders sell everything! Checked out of hostel and with some searching managed to get a train to our next destination. As this is our weekly budget for accomadation, we decided to call our saviour and good old pal Alfie (who we went to uni with and now lives in Qinhuangdao) who kindly put us up for a few days in the spare room of his nice appartment. ...
