Oct 16, 2007 - Tiayuan/Night Train

This morning we left Pingyao and headed for the Shuanglin Temple just outside the city. My Mexican friends said it was just like being in Mexico, they even had some of the same merchandise! We finished our tour too late to have dinner, so had to stop at a "supermarket" in Taiyuan to buy something to eat before boarding the overnight train (crackers, Chinese pringles, nuts). ... This time we were able to board before everyone else, but had to walk in front of all of them, I'm sure they hated us!
