Mar 6, 2009 - Kunming (again!)

Yes the extra 3 pounds were worth it - the bus was more comfortable, and James could just about unbend his knees - we have decided that its trains for us for the rest of the way, at least then we can both sleep! Today was just a day spare in Kunming to get our luggage from the hotel as we had left it there (my case is sooooo heavy!) and the cheapest way of getting to Chengdu. ... Not the best sleeper bus (I think we are forever fated with them) meant a rubbish nights sleep and an earlier than realised arrival in Lijiang at 6am, but you are allowed to sleep on the bus til 7am. ... Back to Lijiang for a sleeper bus ...

In the greater Lijiang City, there is a famous lake, Lu Gu Lake, known for its high altitude crystal lake (2700m) as well as the home of the famous Mosuo tribe. ... Since we are currently living within Llijiang City in Yongsheng county, we thought the cost is not so high that it is worth checking it out. ...
