Jan 7, 2009 - A wee taster of India - Bangalore!

Well I finally made it to the land of the curry and I am sure many other things beside:)) In one day, however, it was hard to get a real feel for India apart from the people have to be the most friendly and helpful that I had met anywhere on my travels. BUT don´t worry all the other stuff is there as well in equal quantities so as not to disappoint those who are looking for stereotypes although thankfully "Imodium" or "the special pills" weren't needed:) For the most of the day unfortunately I was on the hunt for the British Airways (BA) office which I was assured was in Bangalore. ... This obviously presented me with the problem of getting a ticket re-issued on the only day I had in Bangalore. ... Eventually however I found the BA office with some amount of relief BUT when I opened the door I was met by a security guard who informed me that the office was now closed and I had to go to New Delhi! Mon Dieu I thought to myself:))Unless Superman was somehow going to come to my rescue I was completely scuppered.Well I finally made it to the land of the curry and I am sure many other things beside:)) In one day, however, it was hard to get a real feel for India apart from the people have to be the most friendly and helpful that I had met anywhere on my travels. Aug 17, 2008 - INDIA - Once Again

After the fun of camping in the Thar desert we continued on our Southwesterly course to the city of Ahmedabad, which only days earlier, had been rocked by a series of bombs which had been planted on bicycles in the residential areas by 'SIMI' terrorists. We arrived last night and after the usual game of musical hostels/hotels we finally arrived at the Ocea, a magnificent gleaming monument to just how soft we've grown on this trip. After the fun of camping in the Thar desert we continued on our Southwesterly course to the city of Ahmedabad, which only days earlier, had been rocked by a series of bombs which had been planted on bicycles in the residential areas by 'SIMI' terrorists.
