Whenever I have talked to someone who has travelled to Tuscany, I have asked them if they visited the Leaning Tower Of Pisa. ... So many of them have not, so how could I be in Florence, only an hour and fifteen minutes away by train from Pisa, and not see it myself. ... Pisa was a delightful surprise. ... Anil picked up a brochure in the lobby of our hotel in Florence and read about a day trip that would take tourists to Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena over the course of twelve hours. ... The sun was getting rather low in the sky and the traffic was getting rather high on the roads as we traveled by bus from San Gimignano to Siena. ... However, all this dawdling meant that it was almost dark when we arrived in Siena, and we weren’t able to see it in all its glory. ... We rolled into Firenze (Florence) on the very comfortable Eurostar train, wow; this is a great way to travel. ... As we had walked through the streets of Florence, I was struck by how dark the streets were, even though the sun had not yet set. ...
