This port was also a tender stop, no pier so we got to shore using the tender boats from where the ship was anchored. Zihuatanejo retains a rustic haven feel while Ixtapa, four miles down the coast, has the limelight of the modern paradise with luxury hotels, gourmet restaurants, shopping galore, golf, and beaches. ... Acapulco was first settled in 1550 and was a major Mexican shipping port. ... The museum has wonderful exhibits which tell the story of the history of Acapulco, commerce between Mexico and the Orient, and piracy in the Pacific Ocean. ... Wednesday 27th Day 18 Well today at lunchtime we arrive at Acapulco, looks stunning from the ship and it’s already humid with the sun streaming down (sorry to mention that). ... We have an early lunch before disembarking for a trip called amazing Acapulco. ... Another early morning awakening to a sunrise that looked liked an enchanting sunset. They also operate the Acapulco Princess (Ellie, I and LOTS of others go to as well). ... It is unique in that it is comprised of bungalows & villas in single & 2 story arrangements, spaciously separated by dramatic trees, expansive groomed lawns & flowers.Another early morning awakening to a sunrise that looked liked an enchanting sunset. Nachdem ich mir noch die Uni hab schauen zeigen lassen (da laesst es sich echt gut studieren), mussten wir Abschied nehmen und ich bin mit Irma zurueck nach Toluca, denn ich musste noch einige Zeit rumbringen, da mein Bus nach Acapulco erst um 1 Uhr nachts ging. ... Irgendwann als der Bus mal wieder anhielt wachte ich auf, nach 6 Stunden teifen Schlafs und ein Blick aus dem Fenster zwang mich mich zu beeilen, denn siehe da: Willkommen in Acapulco. ... Nachdem dem erfrischenden Nickerchen bis 11 Uhr wollte ich mal Acapulco erkunden, da ich ja net so der Strandfan bin, vor allem net alleine, dachte ich mir lauefste mal die Bucht entlang. ... Nach etwa 2 Stunden kam ich im historischen Acapulco mit dem Fort (freier Eintritt fuer Studenten. ... Aber eigentlich ist Acapulco nicht so der Renner. ...
