Feb 22, 2009 - Week 33 – Week ending 22 February 2009 – South Island, New Zealand

Havelock is near the Pelorus River and in one of the Marlborough Sounds but as we were walking around we noticed stacks of No fishing, no dogs, no this no that signs and the place is so tiny we decided to keep on going and get to Blenheim. ... We like Blenheim and the town has all the “major” shops that you need. ... We left Logan and Poppy behind and went to the Blenheim Farmers Market at the Showgrounds. ... We really enjoyed Blenheim and our five days here it has gone by very quickly. ...

Hier, j ai du dire au revoir a Nelson (ma ville!) pour me rendre a Blenheim, une petite ville non loin de la, entouree de vignobles. ... Nov 22, 2008 - The Interislander Ferry to the South Island

November 22, 2008 Before I get into this day’s happenings, we want to thank all those who have e-mailed about enjoying the blog and providing advice for and encouragement in our adventure. After a very tight turn, bow to stern, in the compact harbour basin, the ferry backed into its berth and we were off on the short 30 km trip to Blenheim, the heart of the Marlborough wine region. ... There was a good reason…none of the shops are open on Saturday afternoon in Blenheim (!?). ... Even warnings about the campsite in Seddon weren't enough to convince me to go on to Blenheim (about another 15 miles). ... That spurred us on and we neared the outskirts of Blenheim about 17. ... If Nick had told me were going on to Blenheim earlier on in the day, I would probably have quit, so was really chuffed to have made it. ...
