Up early, jump on the bus, where's Breaker? Still waiting to be picked up! Pick up Breaker (who had an amusing story to tell of his early morning antics) and then travel to the Dong Nai Museum where the original Long Tan Cross is held along with a lot of other displays. I don't think any of us could have thanked him enough for his time given so freely! And then on the plane back to Singapore and to our accommodation ...

We arrived in Singapore this morning and were impressed by the size of the harbor facilities in this port. ... We left the ship after breakfast to participate in a half-day tour and soon found tremendous congestion at the immigration control point in the cruise terminal; a cruise ship from China had tied up across the wharf from us, and there were what seemed like thousands of Chinese trying to get on, and off, that ship.We arrived in Singapore this morning and were impressed by the size of the harbor facilities in this port. ... We were up early for breakfast after me having a restless, sleepless night, and then off to the Ferry terminal to return to Singapore. ... We arrived in Singapore at our hotel at 12. ... We have become very familiar with the Orchard Road shopping area and feel like we have come to visit an old friend (for those of you who aren't familiar- Orchard Road is Singapore's main shopping area and is filled with every shop under the sun). ... I love Singapore so much. ... We have discussed if we could afford to spend another week here (jokingly of course!!) We have only used Singapore as a stopover point in the past, but apart from Orchard Road, we have never really explored it fully, so we are madly planning to come back for a week and have a look around. ...

I have food poisoning! Can you believe it? We have been in 1 of the dirtiest countries and we come to Singapore, which has to be 1 of the cleanest, and we order room service dinner and guess what? The hotel we are staying in is so luxurious and the bed and pillows are the most heavenly I think I have ever slept on, and then I spend the night in the bathroom over the toilet. ... We leave for Tanah Merah ferry terminal at 10am, check our baggage and then go through Immigration once again.I have food poisoning! Can you believe it? Mar 25, 2009 - A full day in Singapore

Wednesday March 25 Today was a beautiful sunny day and we visited the Jurong Bird Park. In the area around Boat Quay, we went to see a modern statue (1972) of Sir Stamford Raffles erected at the spot where he originally set foot in Singapore in 1819 and we visited the Merlion, the mythical half-fish half-lion symbol of Singapore that guards the Singapore river as it opens into Marina Bay. ... We ate dinner in a restaurant on Boat Quay watching the sun setting and the lights coming on in the city.Wednesday March 25 Today was a beautiful sunny day and we visited the Jurong Bird Park. Mar 24, 2009 - New Frenchies in town, married 1 child...

It has been a while since the last time we have given some news…well we are fine… It was not so easy to find an apartment and to get installed but finally we did it! Virg is still pregnant…her due date? March 20th…How can this baby still inside after the past 3 months…We believe the baby girl thinks life is too crazy and she does not want to come out…or she is waiting to be an aeries, like her mother…what a lucky father! So how is life in Singapore? So hard! We live in a nice condominium (residence) with swimming pool, tennis courts, squash court, playground for kids, Salon, mini super market. ... So far you will not have an over view of Singapore, we were too lazy to bring our camera everywhere with us. ... Tuesday March 24 Today we started the day having breakfast at a local “hawker market”. The meals are inexpensive; we both had a cooked breakfast including a large mug of coffee for a total of five Singapore dollars. ... We spent the morning at the Singapore Zoo. ... Just as it did in Queensland when we visited the Australia Zoo, it rained here as well, and we bought yet another zoo poncho!
