We arrived in Singapore this morning and were impressed by the size of the harbor facilities in this port. ... We left the ship after breakfast to participate in a half-day tour and soon found tremendous congestion at the immigration control point in the cruise terminal; a cruise ship from China had tied up across the wharf from us, and there were what seemed like thousands of Chinese trying to get on, and off, that ship.We arrived in Singapore this morning and were impressed by the size of the harbor facilities in this port. ... I have food poisoning! Can you believe it? We have been in 1 of the dirtiest countries and we come to Singapore, which has to be 1 of the cleanest, and we order room service dinner and guess what? The hotel we are staying in is so luxurious and the bed and pillows are the most heavenly I think I have ever slept on, and then I spend the night in the bathroom over the toilet. ... Wednesday March 25 Today was a beautiful sunny day and we visited the Jurong Bird Park. In the area around Boat Quay, we went to see a modern statue (1972) of Sir Stamford Raffles erected at the spot where he originally set foot in Singapore in 1819 and we visited the Merlion, the mythical half-fish half-lion symbol of Singapore that guards the Singapore river as it opens into Marina Bay. ... It has been a while since the last time we have given some news…well we are fine… It was not so easy to find an apartment and to get installed but finally we did it! Virg is still pregnant…her due date? March 20th…How can this baby still inside after the past 3 months…We believe the baby girl thinks life is too crazy and she does not want to come out…or she is waiting to be an aeries, like her mother…what a lucky father! So how is life in Singapore? So hard! We live in a nice condominium (residence) with swimming pool, tennis courts, squash court, playground for kids, Salon, mini super market. ... So far you will not have an over view of Singapore, we were too lazy to bring our camera everywhere with us. ...
