Mar 24, 2009 - New Frenchies in town, married 1 child...
It has been a while since the last time we have given some news…well we are fine… It was not so easy to find an apartment and to get installed but finally we did it! Virg is still pregnant…her due date? March 20th…How can this baby still inside after the past 3 months…We believe the baby girl thinks life is too crazy and she does not want to come out…or she is waiting to be an aeries, like her mother…what a lucky father! So how is life in Singapore? So hard! We live in a nice condominium (residence) with swimming pool, tennis courts, squash court, playground for kids, Salon, mini super market. ... So far you will not have an over view of Singapore, we were too lazy to bring our camera everywhere with us. ... Mar 24, 2009 - A day (and night) at the Singapore Zoo
Tuesday March 24 Today we started the day having breakfast at a local “hawker market”. The meals are inexpensive; we both had a cooked breakfast including a large mug of coffee for a total of five Singapore dollars. ... We spent the morning at the Singapore Zoo. ... Just as it did in Queensland when we visited the Australia Zoo, it rained here as well, and we bought yet another zoo poncho! Mar 23, 2009 - Our first full day in Singapore visiting several tourist sites..
Monday March 23 This morning we caught the Singapore International Airlines (SIA) Bus that, for a nominal sum as airline patrons, we were able to hop on and hop off for a tour of the city. ... We did most of the circuit getting our bearings of the major parts of the downtown core before hopping off at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. ... As it was a clear sunny day, we hopped back on the SIA Bus and jumped off at the Singapore Flyer, a large 165 metre observation wheel with 28 pods, similar to the London ‘Eye’. ... It was a brilliant way to appreciate the layout of the city and the significance of Singapore’s location as a port. ... Later in afternoon, we caught the bus just one more stop and hopped off to briefly visit the “Fountain of Wealth” in the Suntec Centre before walking over to the Raffles Hotel to indulge in what every visitor to Singapore has to have, a “Singapore Sling” in the Long Bar at Raffles. ...

Well, what a day! Not all in the good sense of the phrase either. Met up with the two girls from the Night Safari and went for a Singapore Sling at The Long Bar in the Raffles Hotel - not cheap but well worth it for the novelty. ... I have kept the beer mat! I thought it was great that there were massive bowls of monkey nuts on all the tables and the casings were just strewn all over the floor.Well, what a day! Singapore Sling encore Wednesday 4th March So, we wake to a very sunny morning – top up the tan time. ... My next destination is the city-state of Singapore where I intend to see those sights I missed 11 years ago. ... For some reason my passport wouldn't register with passport control on the Singapore side which meant that I held up the coach's progress somewhat, and during the process met a fellow Brit named Glynn. ... We and a German guy then went on a hunt for some cheap accomodation in Singapore which led us to the brand new ABC Hostel which was our base. ... My first full day was spent at the Singapore Zoo, meant to be one of the worlds best and with the well kept pens and numerous assistants for the animals its easy to see why. ... Day 2 was spent taking a visit to Raffles Hotel and having a Singapore Sling in the Long Bar, an obligatory visit for anyone, followed by a trip around the surprisingly good Asian Civilisations Museum. ...
