Mar 26, 2009 - Ao Nang Beach, Thailand

I got back into Ao Nang after another 2 hour ferry journey back from Phi Phi. ... She said she wanted to stay on the beach for a few days and chill out away from all the partying, so I told her she had to stay in Ao Nang. ... We got off the ferry and were trying to sort out a bus or taxi into Ao Nang when her friend, Kate, showed up - she had flown into Krabi earlier that morning. ... We all jumped into the taxi she had waiting and headed to the place where Kate had left her bag and got a taxi down to Ao Nang. ... They both said they were glad that I had told them about Ao Nang Beach, it was just what they needed - better than being stuck in Krabi Town with one night market, one shopping centre and a KFC! We just chatted shit really, but it was great to get some first hand accounts of their time in Australia and the trip they did in South America sounded wicked too. ...

Mar 21, 2009 - Ao Nang, Thailand - the bloody flu....

Unfortunately, I have not been up to much since my tour of James Bond Island due to the bloody flu! I have pretty much stayed in bed for the last few days, only venturing out for fags and something to eat! Lucky I copied a load of films from my brother before I left! The people at the hotel I'm staying at have been great. I'm here at the Ao Nang Cozy Place for 2 more nights and then off to Phi Phi for 3 nights before getting the ferry back to Ao Nang for the night (staying somewhere with tea/coffee facilities in the room so I can have a decent brew - PG Tips), it wasn't cheap but just one night of luxury really. ... I then fly out to Bangkok on 27th March, stay there for 3 nights and then I will fly to Chiang Mai for 3 nights before flying back to Bangkok for a 2 night stay and my flight to Hanoi.Unfortunately, I have not been up to much since my tour of James Bond Island due to the bloody flu! I was up early this morning for breakfast as was being collected from the hotel at 8. I had thought that we would be going straight to the dock at Ao Nang beach, but no. ... We were about 10 minutes away from Ao Nang beach when the minibus decided to conk out! There was smoke pouring out so we all got off the bus ASAP. ... It turned out the air con had broken, so we had to continue the journey with the door open and mozzies everywhere - quite unpleasant! I got back to the hotel and was suitably knackered, a cold has just started and I've been sneezing all day.I was up early this morning for breakfast as was being collected from the hotel at 8. Mar 18, 2009 - Ao Nang Beach

I decided not to do an entry for yesterday as I spent most of it by the pool at the hotel. The internet wasn't too crash hot there either - the wifi stopped working completely and there were only computers with Thai keyboards! It thrashed it down pretty much all night too, so feasted on a large bag of crisps and watched "Milk" - excellent film by the way if anyone wants to see it! Got a taxi from the Howdy Hotel to Ao Nang this morning and checked into The Aonang Cozy Place. ... I've decided I'm going to head for Rail Ley Beach (also on recommendation from Suzy) for a few nights, then back to Ao Nang for a night and then back to Krabi airport to fly to Bangkok. ...
