Hey everyone - We arrived in Bangkok and got to our friends at about 12:30 am but weren't smart enough to go right to bed and sat up and talked until 3 am - so we continued to be jet lagged for several days after. ... Happy 4th of july!! Our Thai visa was only a few days away from expiring at this point and because we would have to fly through Bangkok to get to Cambodia we thought it would be a great time to stay a few days and check it out. ... Yesterday we spent our last day in Hong Kong wandering around Kowloon again. The plane wasn't busy though so we just snagged our own rows and slept (we almost didn't get off at Bangkok and would have ended up in Ethiopia!) So far, Bangkok has been a disappointment. ... Bangkok looks a little better this morning than it did last night, but not really by much, still getting hassled everywhere we go. ... Today will be my last night in Bangkok and I have to say it was an experience I wont soon forget. ... I am quite honestly shopped out and refuse to take one more ride on one of those extremely crowded sky-train carriages, but I must confess the time I spent doing it was enjoyable and unexpectedly gave me some insight into the cosmopolitan culture of modern Bangkok. ... Tomorrow I head for Chiang Mai, a place I know and love already and cannot wait to experience it from a more free-hearted and nomadic point of view.Today will be my last night in Bangkok and I have to say it was an experience I wont soon forget. ...
