Once out of LA, the beauty of California becomes apparent. Buellton was one of our favorite stops last year so we did Flying Flags RV Resort again for nights two and three. ... It was noticably cooler this year (June as opposed to July of last year) and the temps.Once out of LA, the beauty of California becomes apparent. Leaving Santa Barbara we had nowhere to go for the night--everything was booked; our best choice was to spend the night in the overflow lot at the Flying Flags RV Resort and Campground in Buellton but, ever hopeful, we went in search of a more adventurous alternative! El Capitan State Beach and Campground offered little hope, as everything is booked nine months in advance in these desirous spots but thinking of the recent Mid-East war between Israel and its neighbors we thought maybe someone would have stayed home! Not so, so we spent the day there, walking Lacie, basking in the sun on the beach, and enjoying people watching as there was a wedding on the beach in the afternoon. ... So we went onward to Buellton and the Flying Flags Resort and Campground. ... Flying Flags is really nice, and Buellton is just a few miles from the Danish/American shopper's mecca of Solvang. ...
