Along the way we didn't get a sense of folks heading out of the area, in fact there was a steady stream of cars and trucks heading south, but we must have been just ahead of the crowd because after we were settled in the campground started to fill up with other RVers heading out of the path of the forecast storm and they reported depleted stocks of water and other staples at grocery stores they stopped in.Along the way we didn't get a sense of folks heading out of the area, in fact there was a steady stream of cars and trucks heading south, but we must have been just ahead of the crowd because after we were settled in the campground started to fill up with other RVers heading out of the path of the forecast storm and they reported depleted stocks of water and other staples at grocery stores they stopped in....

Oct 5, 2005 - Will I Ever Get Out of Florida?

Another late start, although I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that this one was caused by a bit of retail therapy. I finally headed out in the afternoon and made it as far as Tallahassee, with a plan to drive north into Alabama tomorrow. ... I looked at the weather map in USA Today and noticed that it's already snowing in the Dakotas and Wyoming, with highs in the low 40s.Another late start, although I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that this one was caused by a bit of retail therapy. Once again the day was sunny and beautiful. traffic! Tallahassee is the capitol of Florida and we just happened to be on Capitol Way when the traffic halted to a standstill. ...
