Well, we made a big mistake trying to see Salem, Massachusetts, the place where the famous witch trials took place, right before Halloween. ... We went one more place, to the old Salem waterfront to see the House of the Seven Gables, in which Nathaniel Hawthorne set his famous novel (if had been owned by a relative of his). ... We had a wonderful day in Salem, Massachusetts. ... Salem is a nice little town with narrow streets going every which way but straight! We finally found a parking garage that provided free handicapped parking so we didn't have to pay the $8 charge. ... I believe it would be safe to say that the old wise women, and others, that were accused of being witches in historic Salem did not appear so cartoonish and wear purple pointed hats. ...
