Sep 30, 2009 - The Bright Lights of Vegas
The drive to Vegas through the Mojave Desert was arduous and tiring, with long, steep grades going up into the upper elevations of Southeastern CA toward Nevada. We wanted to stop in Vegas because we'd never been there and wanted to see the famous "strip" at night, and try out an RV Resort we've heard is one of the best in the country, Oasis Las Vegas. ... The resort was opulent, with a huge marble columned, palm tree lined entry and a pool that looked like it came out of the Casablanca movie set.The drive to Vegas through the Mojave Desert was arduous and tiring, with long, steep grades going up into the upper elevations of Southeastern CA toward Nevada. Sep 29, 2009 - Viva Las Vegas!!
After getting everyone up and ready for the bus at 6:30 am we were able to begin our bus ride to Vegas!! Observing the desert scenery along the way made us very anxious and at the first sight of a casino everyone was in a buzz of excitement! When we finally reached the infamous Las Vegas strip we were in awe at the sheer size and beaty of all the hotel casinos stretching for miles. ... Right after noon I went to the Rose Cosmetic and Family Dentistry office for my appointment to get the sharp edge of the broken porcelain crown smoothed off. Our last stop was at the light and sound show on Fremont Street (at Las Vegas Boulevard). ... More Vegas sight seeing for us, both on the strip and the surrounding area. Jo decided on red, the ball rolled and settled on RED! So we cashed in our winnings and enjoyed our Mojitos! Took a drive out to the multi billion dollar Las Vegas Lakes development where the desert has been transformed into an Italian styled lakeside village. ...
