The Wandering Wishnies |
Welcome to our website!
This is the blog of two crazy Wishnies, Fred and Jo, who, on a whim, decided to shed the trappings of "normal life": home, family, jobs, possessions, everything we took for granted, and go off to see the world. Or at least, the world of our United States.
After living for six years in a 2400 sq. ft. urban loft condo in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we have chucked it all, and are going to shoehorn ourselves and our two cats, Phoenix and Hemmingway, into a 390 sq. ft. Fifth Wheel Trailer, towed by a Ford F350 Diesel Dually Crew Cab pickup truck.
Not only was this a 180° lifestyle change, but we have absolutely no camping or RV experience, both of us having lived an urban life our entire lives, disdaining even the suburbs. So a mere six months ago (8/14/05), we began researching, planning, dreaming and hoping. And now the impulse has become reality (2/12/06), and we're off to begin the greatest adventure of our lives. We're going to share it all with you, the good, the bad and the ugly.
We hope you'll enjoy living vicariously through us by this blog, as we crisscross this great country, looking for the flavors and customs of the different regions. We hope to make many new friends and discoveries along the way and share them with you. And we would love to hear from you as well.
